Elephant Rescue to Make You Smile

An elephant herd was making its way across the Teesta River in West Bengal when a baby calf was separated from the rest. The baby elephant was swept nearly 4 kilometers downstream before being found. The North Bengal Fisherman Forum set out to save the baby elephant whose little trunk was sticking up out of the water. They rescued it and later, when on land, it appears the baby has reunited with its mother. Instead of linking to the source itself, drop a tear or two; here is the rescue and the baby and mama reunion. Not the best short, but it says so much

It's a good thing the baby elephant got rescued and reunited with its mom. It reminded me of Dumbo.

This got me tearing up a little, honestly. Those fishermen didn't have to do that but they did and it just shows humans still got some good in them. Nature really be humbling us, that lil trunk sticking out of the water broke my heart.

That was such a noble gesture on the part of the rescue team. They went very much out of their way to save the calf.
