My Yearly Mammogram

Hello fellow mylotters!!! Time sure flies when you're having fun!!!
I know it's been a while since I've been on the site. The last time I was on the site I was just finishing up doing my radiation. I didn't think it was that bad and the radiation team was so good!!!
After radiation I was to start on a hormone pill; however when they asked me if I was having any periods, I told them I had a pretty "bad" one during radiation. So delay of the hormone blocker until I saw an OB/GYN. So, in April I had an extensive D&C. The surgeon scraped out some polyps and found out for a woman that is going through menopause, the lining of my uterus was thicker than it should be, so he scraped the lining. Once I found out that the polyps were non-cancerous, my Oncologist then started me on the hormone blocker, Letrozole.
Let me tell you, the first couple of months I was miserable!!! I had fatigue all the time and I ached all over!!! I've been on it 5 months now and I don't get so fatigued anymore and I manage the joint pain with Tylenol and I've been seeing my chiropractor. On the days that I sweep,vaccume and mop the floors at the village my body sure feels it!!!
Now, fast forward to August 27th,2026 I had my yearly mammogram and my 3 month lab work done. (I have to have lab work done every 3 months while I take this hormone blocker which I have to take for 5 years!!!) My mammogram came back I'm CANCER FREE!!! Of course for me, I still have it in the back of my mind will it come back or will I get cancer somewhere else. For now, though I'm enjoying life!!!

Yes it has been a long time! I have thought about you many times! I am glad that you are cancer free. I had cervical cancer. My Oncologist performed a Hystarectomy on January 15, 2025 that went very well. He didn't have to put me on any meds or anything else. However I have been going for check ups every 3 months since my first follow up check up on February 13, 2025. Some of the appointments changed because of having transportation issues. My next appointment is in November, then one more. Then I continue with follow up appointments two times a year for five years. So far I am still cancer free as well. Please keep praying for me and I will pray for you. Keep thing positivley my friend.
