One more week of September left. We have a repeat of yesterday today. It is actually a bit colder and windier. it may not rain quite as much today, but it is nasty. Son will hopefully be here tomorrow after his interview. He was talking about coming down here this evening, so he is closer to the city..but it is an afternoon interview and only 90 miles from where he is living, as long as he leaves in the morning it should be fine. Some poor people do that commute everyday. I knew somebody from here who had flex time, so usually only worked 4 days per week I think..but he commuted from here into DC..which is 100 miles. What a pain that must have been..but he started ungodly early and left early as well, so I guess the traffic wasn't too horrible. What is the furtherest you have heard of someone commuting? I think that is it for me.

I would say it is fairly common around big cities in the US. 100 miles is too far though, if you ask me. It would have to be exhausting..and you can never tell about I95 here. It is bad more often than not, at least in the parts leading to the DC and back. There was an accident the other day..and I got in a big jam on the way back here from that area just 10 days ago.

@snowy22315 - Many Italian from here go to work to Switzerland, but usually the distance is no more than 30 miles.

Hard to believe that the last week of September is here already
I used to have a bit of a commute as well but it was only an hour and a half each way and hey, it was a good fast bike ride

hour and a half is a long way, but if the traffic wasn't too bad, that is the main thing. I have never had a long commute...Thank the Lord. That is one thing son likes about current job..it is 10 minutes from his house.

See I just loved driving my sports bike
If it had been three hours each way it wouldn't have bothered me at all
I suppose a job 10 minutes from home would be good.
But I would miss my commute

It would be worrisome. I would always be worried about being late for work. However, some places are understanding..and accept you will be there as soon as you can be. Not everyone is on the clock so to speak, especially most professional employees.

100 miles everyday! Wow, I cannot do that at all.
60km is the farthest I've known someone commuting everyday.

Yeah that weather sounds miserable, hope it clears up a bit for your son's drive tomorrow. Ninety miles for an interview isn't too bad honestly, people do way worse commutes. I think I've heard of someone doing like two hours one way, which just sounds exhausting to me.

I know,,,it is like you have already worked before you go to work. The way it is here a 2 hour commute can be a lot longer if the highway is jam packed or there is an accident or something. It would be stressful being worried about being late for work every time you worked.
