It's 1:32 p.m. ... The weather's cloudy and 27 degrees Celsius. I'm still at work and, I'd say the weather's decent. I managed to knock out a few online gigs, and I'm still hoping the day turns out productive because nothing much has happened offline so far.
On the family side, my stepdad's burial process is ongoing. Everything's set for next month, and my mum, my siblings and I will be traveling to Lagos for two days for the burial.
The family of my stepdad has really been there for us. They've been sending money to my mum, making sure we have the clothes we'll wear for the burial, calling my mum regularly, And helping with upkeep. They've really rallied around her and have been making sure we don't lack anything as we prepare for the burial.
They've also covered the apartment where we'll be staying in Lagos for the two nights, which is another really kind gesture. The process is still ongoing, but everything is coming together.
I'm going for lunch in about 30 minutes, and Thank God it's Friday. I wish everyone a wonderful day.

Wow, that is a very involved process. Does it usually take that long to schedule a burial, or is it because you have to actually travel for the burial? I’m always interested in learning about other country’s customs.
And, I’m very glad to hear you all are being supported by his other family. I know how strenuous it is with needing financial and emotional support when one loses a family member.

Yeah, it can take that long because Nigerians spend a lot on burials. A lot of planning goes into these burial ceremonies..a lot of people are involved(the extended family) in Nigeria and outside the country..
..they hold meetings upon meetings.. mostly about what clothes to wear, the venue, how many people are coming and stuff..it's a lot
My stepdad is also the head of the family..so, they can't just bury him like a common man..
another reason is that some of them don't live in Nigeria..while others are flying around the world..they rich folks..
In a nutshell, they just wanna plan a befitting burial for the man

That’s so generous of them to take care of your mother and the family that way. So many times “step-families” can lead to a lot of trouble. (Not that “birth families” can’t have trouble.) I pray the families are finding comfort and solace.

An indication of the lack of new posts these days because of fewer members posting
Usually here we bury people in a few days after they die
