Now there is a memory. I just put The Kitchen on and they were reminiscing about going out to the bars back in the day. My father owned 2 bars/clubs when I was growing up but ironically I never drank a drop of alcohol until I went off to college at 18. One of our favorite nights on the island were Saturday nights where The Sawmill did 25 cent beers. It cost $2 to get in and then, well, 25 cents per beer. For like $8 I would be totally trashed. Granted my sister and I would often have to go pee under the boardwalk b/c the line for the bathroom was insane but it was all part of the experience. ( @FourWalls I hope that tarnishes your idea of "Under the Boardwalk" ) Those were fun times. Seaside got demolished in Hurricane Sandy and then after they rebuilt the place burned down a year later. It is a very different place now which is what the mayor is going for. No more stupid Jersey Shore imports from NY acting like trash. I'm also much older now and don't have an interest in staying up all night. But the quarter beer days were the days. Thank Darwin we didn't have smart phones back then!
