Sometimes I think there should be a mandatory 3 candidates for every general election

In the local races here, not so much this district, but in a neighboring one, one of the people running is a greedy SOB who has done a lot of insider trading, and is the incumbent in Congress and has voted himself a pay raise 10x. Creep! His opponent is a prosecutor who is being tarred with the usual "soft on crime." label. The police stand with the corrupt guy. Now, neither of them seem like appropriate candidates. Why is there no alternative? The race in our district is disturbing in that the one in office now, which for some stupid reason is also into self enrichment and insider trading. He has had a couple of town halls on the phone and all the questions are censored. He is refusing to debate his opponent a much superior candidate who takes no money from PACS, and because people are fearful of stupid things..the corrupt guy is ahead. Not that a third party candidate would take care of these situations, but it could make people feel they had more of a choice.
