Cats Gravitate Toward the Sunny Spots

This is Oliver, my cat. Lately he has been asking us to open the inner door so that he can take a cat map in a sunny spot inside the storm door. The sun must feel really good on his old bones. There has been a time or two where I have laid down beside him and I like it too. Does your cat do this? Do dogs do this?

Our horses would sometimes lay in a sandy patch even on a very hot day.

I knew this pattern. When the air is cold or before midday or late afternoon they Will lay down under the sun for warming up

Aw Oliver has the right idea honestly, sunspots hit different. My cat does the same thing, finds the one warm patch on the floor and just melts into it for hours. Laying down next to him sounds like the best part of your day tbh.

Yes, dogs do it too. I’ve always thought it was adorable as well.
