Halloween

Tonight my mom and I were talking about how years ago when she was a kid and years ago when I was a kid, as well as my kid's too there never was any talk about people not celebrating Halloween, except when I was a teenager and our neighbors that were in a religion that celebrated no holidays.
When my youngest child was school age some of the talk started at a few Christian churches in our area about no costume's or anything with ghost or goblins. Silly!
It is all made up for just fun!

Ever since I can remember, as a kid, there was a lot of push to not do costumes or celebrate Halloween from various religions. At our church, we called our get together a Fall Harvest party because people, Christians AND non Christians were so picky about it. My family didn’t celebrate it, but we didn’t care if other people did. After all, no one is celebrating the actual devil.

These neighbors of mine a man, his wife and their 4 children. Super nice people! The man was a Christian and his wife decided to raise the kids in an Undenominational church that didn't believe in Halloween, Christmas, celebrating birthdays. Their church services were on Saturdays, therefore they couldn't join any school sports, etc. She did this to save money!

I know what you mean that some church find Halloween and Christmas is not for them to celebrate.

Many Christians view Halloween as evil due to its historical connections to pagan practices and the occult, believing that participating in its festivities can lead to spiritual deception. Some denominations, like the Seventh-day Adventist Church, express opposition to Halloween, associating it with demonic influences.
I researched this years ago when I had an active interest in the Church.
