"O" (movie)

I watched the movie "O." It is the modern version of Othello. It watched it on Pluto TV. It has Mekhi Phifer, Julia Stiles, Martin Sheen, Josh Hartnett, Andrew Keegan, Rain Phoenix, Elden Henson, and John Heard in it. Big Warning: there is some violence. This movie is mainly a basketball movie. I'm not a fan of basketball. But this movie did remind me of my uncle though who loved basketball. They did change the names of the characters of the original play. In this movie, Odin James (Othello) is a great basketball player. Hugo Goulding (Iago) plays on the same basketball team. Odin's girlfriend Desi Brable (Desdemona) is the dean's daughter of the elite high school. The dean doesn't know his daughter had been "sleeping with" Odin. They weren't until one day they did, but he pretty much raped her. The reason he raped her was because he couldn't get out of his mind the things Hugo said. Hugo had repeatedly told Odin that Desi was cheating on him with Michael. It wasn't true because Michael was trying to get back on the team and Hugo told him to talk to Desi. In the end, Odin kills Desi and Emily. Hugo kills Michael and Roger. Odin also takes his life. I sorta liked the movie. I'm watching next Bullet Train. It's the 1975 version.
