Random Talk: Holiday, Autumn Cleaning Day I and a Historical Painting

Today was a holiday in honor of Father of the Nation : Mahatma Gandhi. Movies have been made on him and he was a leading person in Indian freedom struggle. Many of you (outside India) might have heard or read about him or even seen old video clips. Then it was also time for a "kind" of Autumn cleaning. One of our store rooms needed de-cluttering. I had not been able to find the time before. First task was to clean a ceiling fan that had not been cleaned in ages, except for isolated dry brooming. It was very dusty and greasy. Took a lot of time. Then I dusted top of a few almirahs we have there. Removed spider webs. Then my wife and kids helped to remove extra things lying there. Extra work for garbage collector tomorrow morning! And now let us talk some history. This painting was at the museum we visited during our Denmark visit in Feb 2026. Our Danish friend told us that it was an early 1800s battle between England and Denmark. It was a naval battle. May be some day I can find more details or ask my friend about it. The picture was taken by my Indian colleague from his mobile. How is it going at your end of the world?
