Does AI excite or worry you more?

It’s been amazing, but then recently we’ve seen how unsettling AI can be. I’ve been impressed by things like two women telling their health symptoms to ChatGPT and they were diagnosed with diseases doctors had missed for years. But then we recently saw what Anthropic can do in its own, and that wasn’t good, to say the least. I’m in the middle, I guess. Where are you?

AI could be a great instrument, but it's also dangerous.

For sure. It's all about whose in control and everyone is fighting for control including those fighting it.

I worry more about certain other countries using AI more than us; although yes, we definitely need safeguards too.

Exactly. It can be a positive useful to but there must be preparation for the dangerous possibilities.

I really don't obsess on the subject. It's going to happen no matter what regardless of those protestors. Another potential necessary evil. As with all tech, the good is always matched with just as much bad.

I hope as fast as people use it for nefarious things we can come up with just as many things to combat it.

Just suppose it a sharp knife. It is both useful but also may cut our fingers. The younger generation is too dependant on it. They become more lazy and stupid because don't use their mind to think. Just for simple math calculation they can not do it mentally

I could not agree with you more. They do not do the work, but rely on the computers to give them all the answers. It certainly does make them dumber.

It's all about how you use it, which side of the business you are in..but the scary part is that the amount of water a standard AI text prompt consumes, it will actually dry up this world.

I'm in the middle too, honestly. The health stories are impressive, but I wouldn't want anyone trusting it over a real doctor. And the scary stuff makes me think we need to slow down a bit and watch how its used.
