Happily it didn't cost me any money even though he put in an air filter for me, did fluid checks and trans mount and motor mount. Naturally, the problem wasn't happening when I brought it in and the transmission fluid was full..and I didn't want a diagnostic so it was a guessing game. He checked a few other things though, and said they seemed fine. However, by process of elimination I am thinking it is a blocked valve of some sort. I will find out from Auto zone what might help with that.They would need to do a diagnostic on that though I think..I doubt they could tell that just by putting it on the lift, but what do I know? Anyway, I will monitor it. If it keeps acting up, I will have something done after I get paid. I was just happy not to have to spend any money today. Plus I didn't;t have to drop it off, another plus!

Yeah, they are pretty nice there. They are kind of like folksy with their customers. You don't see that kind of thing much in the city..but sometimes you run into it out here in the sticks.

Problems never seem to happen when you take a vehicle on to have a problem checked
Lucky it didn't cost you any money today
I had a bike which kept stopping in mid journey
Garage couldn't identify anything wrong with it
I told the mechanic to take it for a run
And he got 5 miles out and guess what
That's right
It stopped

Were they able to fix it after all that? It kind of lurches when backing up at times..it is intermittent. Hope the trans isn't going bad, but it runs fine when driving forward no issues whatsoever. The throttle or valve body sort of "catching" has been there since I have had the car though. Have put in cleaner a few times, helps a bit.

This might sound daft, but has anyone tried to clean the valve using Brake Cleaner

Exactly! I mean there is something about having it at your disposal should you need it, that is very comforting. Plus where I live you need it for literally everything. There is nothing in walking distance. I don't necessarily go somewhere everyday, but I like having it here.

@snowy22315 I can walk to our Dollar General logically, and our 7-11, but in reality, I can’t really walk that far. It feels so stupid not to walk to the Dollar General on the rare occasion I go.
You know what’s funny? I used to wonder why so many of my apartment neighbors would go to the 7-Eleven and come back with so many things in a brown bag. It never occurred to me that things in a brown bag weren’t coming from the 7-Eleven, but the liquor store I never saw until years after I moved there.
