You have probably seen pictures of witches flying across the sky on their broomsticks. But do you know the truth behind this? It seems that witches make what is called a flying ointment out of belladonna, Henbane and Mandrake. It is made into a thick paste. The only way to apply it to the mucus membrane (the membrane lining body cavities) they found was to apply some to a broomstick and then straddle it. The result was a psychedelic experience that was very intense. There would be sensations of levitation, flying and even traveling to other realms. Not to be tried at home.
