Love at First Bite

We cannot spend all of the spooky season scaring ourselves to death, so some comic relief in-between is welcome. I absolutely love this movie with a dark and handsome George Hamilton playing the fangy Dracula. The film “Love at First Bite” came out in 1979 and is considered a comedy. We see Dracula arrive in modern-day New York City and fall in love with a fashion model who he believes is the reincarnation of his long-lost love. His assistant Renfield is portrayed by the very funny Arte Johnson, the fashion model Cindy Sondheim by Susan Saint James, and the one raining on everyone’s parade is Cindy's psychiatrist boyfriend Jeffrey Rosenberg, portrayed by Richard Benjamin, a descendant of Van Helsing, adding to the comedic conflict. This is definitely a film worth watching with ghoulish glee

I’ll have to look this up. I’m always into a funny Halloween movie. I saw the comedic horror movie Renfield a couple of years ago, and it was pretty good. Nicolas Cage hammed it up as Dracula, and Nicholas Hoult was endearing as Renfeld.

They sure have done a lot of Draculas haven't they? This one was cute. The most horrific one I've ever seen, and I am a big fan so I have seen many, is 30 Days of Night, E-gads! It is about this remote town in Alaska. They have complete darkness for 30days and these horrible vamps come to visit.

Keep meaning to see this one, but missed it. Vampira, with David Niven is a good one in this vein

Love at First Bite is such a fun pick for spooky season, I like that it's scary but not too scary. George Hamilton as Dracula is funny in a way you don't see much anymore. Thanks for the reminder, I think I might watch it again this weekend.
