Our loyalty was rewarded

The photo has nothing to do with the discussion but shows the Mangowine concert we went to last weekend. We were sitting just to the right of the photo.
We had a ‘cold call’ from a company promising that they could get us a cheaper health insurance. We have good cover but it’s not cheap. At this stage in our lives, we don’t feel we can afford to drop down a level and we certainly don’t want to go without it. So the cold caller took down a lot of information and came back with an offer that was $200 a year less than what we pay now.
What caused our hesitation in switching companies was the fact that we’ve been with our old one for some 40 years and have had good service from them. So Vince rang the ‘old’ company and told them how we could save $200 a year if we switched. He also told them he’d been a loyal customer for many years and wasn’t very comfortable about changing. However, savings are savings.
The outcome is that we’ve stayed with the original provider but they’ve knocked $400 off the premium for the next two years. How fortunate that we rang them rather than just accepting the new offer.

We thought they might have matched the offer but this was far better. In two years we can probably go through the whole process again. lol
