Gone Hollywood Songs: Hollywood Swinging

Well I hope you’re happy. Come on, who didn’t see this one coming? At least I hope everyone had this one pegged to show up in a list of songs mentioning Hollywood. Heck, if it was one of the first songs I thought of… Get up and dance! Hollywood Swinging - Kool & the Gang But of course!!! This was a hit when I first started listening to rock and roll (okay, the top 40, non-country stations), so it’s one of the first funky R&B songs my teenage butt boogied to. Who doesn’t love these guys? From the sweet midtempo “Joanna” to the ubiquitous victory song “Celebration,” Kool & the Gang is such a significant part of the sound of the 70s and 80s. So, like they sang in “Jungle Boogie,” get down, get down! Hollywood Swinging Written by Robert "Kool" Bell, Ronald Bell, George Brown, Robert "Spike" Mickens, Charles Smith, Dennis Thomas, and Rick Westfield Recorded by Kool & the Gang From Wild and Peaceful, 1973 HOLLYWOOD LYRICS: title I saw the Kool & the Gang show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uxc9KSPLMxY
