Pajamas to the Mall

I have a question for everyone. Are pajamas an acceptable outfit for going to the mall? I’ve been seeing people wearing what looks like a complete pajama set, matching top and bottoms, comfy slippers, sometimes even looking like they just rolled out of bed. Sometimes satin, sometimes cotton. and they are casually walking around the mall like they are headed to a pajama party at the mall. I know that pajamas are comfortable. No tight jeans, no complicated outfits, But I still have that little voice in my head saying, 'Wait… you're going to the mall, not the bedroom' Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, or maybe I am slowly becoming the person who complains about young people's fashion. So tell me, would you wear pajamas to the mall?

I have seen it too. I don’t know what possesses people to wear their pajamas around town or in the mall, but I would always say where is the pride in your appearance? I may sound like a curmudgeon, but that’s just the way I feel.

Pyjamas for the bedroom, swim suit for the beach, nice respectable clothes for everywhere else and we’ll all be fine. Woman who do wear pjs out and about don’t seem to realise that there are men who would take such low standards as an open invitation.

I am one with you there. I honestly don't like seeing it outside the house at the most

@xFiacre I totally agree with you. We have such clothes to wear at certain place and time and it should always be that

Honestly I wouldnt wear them myself, but I dont really care what other people wear either. If its comfy and they feel good, who am I to judge. Maybe we are just getting old, haha.

You have a point there. Maybe it is a new thing or trend for the younger?!?

Very inappropriate outside of the bedroom. As well, slippers cannot protect your feet when you wear them outside.

@rakski No. A hundred times no. The only acceptable place to wear pyjamas is in the bedroom. My supermarket refused admission to pyjama-wearing customers a few years ago and that put a stop to it.

I totally agree with you. I hope it's the same here at the mall.

Sadly, it does happen here in the UK sometimes ….several years ago it was Mums taking their children to school who would be seen wearing her PJ’s. Now, you see people in supermarkets etc in PJ’s and fluffy slippers. Having said that, it IS only sometimes …not an every day sight. I do not think it is or should be acceptable . Nightwear’s just that, nightwear for night time ….it really doesn’t take much effort to put on jeans and a t shirt….

No, I do not wear pajama-looking pants outside of the house. I don't like it when people are wearing pajamas out in public.

No, and I think wearing pajamas everywhere should be banned. It looks ridiculous and they belong in the house..not public places.
