This has been an interesting long 3-day Thanksgiving Day weekend here in my region.
We began with a nice day on Saturday. It got my hopes up that Sunday may be nice as well, and that the forecast for rain, would be wrong. But no, we had rain yesterday morning and into the early afternoon. Today began cloudy but it has turned sunny and mild.
Besides this being the last long weekend of the calendar year, it is always the last one that we can count on being outside for it. Unless of course, you are skiing.
On this past Saturday, while my hubs and I took in an outdoor farmer's market, our son, dil and the girls went for a drive. Now you should know that our son's drives always end up somewhere fun to be. That one was no different.
They saw a sign for a petting zoo. The girls love to visit these, enjoy petting the goats and seeing the other animals. After that they saw a nice orchard. There they found alot of fresh produce for sale, apples to be picked, and of course they found 'the' perfect pumpkin.
Since Mother Nature only produced one perfect pumpkin, the girls have decided to bring it to school next week so that they can enjoy it in the classroom.
Soon will be time to go out for a nice autumn stroll in the sunshine, all's well that ends well.

Just now
They are more of adventures than drives.
My husband will take the girls to school to make sure that the pumpkin arrives safe and sound. They would never be able to lift it up the stairs on the bus. I thought it was very generous of them to want to donate it.

I was really blown away when they said that they wanted to bring the pumpkin to the classroom to keep it there. Just a few days ago Harper asked her Dad, how long until the next break from school-she understands that this is the way of her life for the next 14 years at least, until university/college anyways.

Except for the nasty rain, it sounds like a perfect Thanksgiving weekend.
