Back to school tomorrow.

The kids got an extra two days off of school because of the hurricane. So I am ready for them to go back, even if they are not. It will be good for them to go back to a little bit of "normal" even though things will not be 100 percent back to normal for probably a week or two more. There are still a couple thousand people without power in our county, and a lot of people with damage that will take weeks maybe months to recover from. So just because our lives are getting back to some realm of normal doesnt mean that is the case for everyone. Sadly, hurricanes are just a product of living here. Something we have to deal with at some point.

I can imagine how relieved you must be to get back into some sort of routine. Those extra days at home can feel very long, especially after the stress of a hurricane

The parents are the ones who suffer the most when kids are out of school, aren’t they. It looks like we’re getting severe weather tonight. I got complacent recently and forgot I lived in Oklahoma.

I guess school will be a bit different if there is no power.

They have power. The schools were being used as emergnecy shelters for people.

Hurricane is predictable disaster. Hopefully all mitigation works well and life back to normal soon
