An Amazon return that I don't have to return

Interesting. I received an order today with 2 bottles of essential oils and a big jar of coconut oil. Well the lid of the coconut oil was cracked and a big piece was broken off. The seal was still intact. It was weird because the box wasn't damaged at all. Still I submitted a complaint. The site said that they would re-ship it and I didn't have to return it. Yeah well guess what? I'll still use the jar that I just received since the seal was intact. That's a savings of $20. I don't go through it all that quickly so the 2 jars will last me for well over a year. Probably more. I find it interesting that so many sites (Wayfair, Instacart, Amazon, etc) just automatically refund or re-ship stuff without requiring people to send the defective item back. Makes you wonder how much they are jacking up prices to begin with.

Nice win on the coconut oil, two jars will last you forever. I think the companies just factor those losses into the prices, so it probably evens out for them. Hope the new jar shows up in one piece, lol.

It has happened a few times to me that Amazon have just said ‘ keep the item ‘ ….like you say how are they able to afford to do that.

I do love it when Amazon doesn’t require a return to get a refund. It’s a nice change.
