When you read on Amazon or some such place that if you get this, this and this you save x amount of $s how do you know you are really saving that much? I don't believe them. What do you think?

to me is also hard to understand that too. though sadly i did "fall" through that area where i wanted to buy a dvd and it cost $19.99 and if I got 2 for the same price $19.99 I'll pay $39.98. i didn't think but in my head was that i thought it was sort of "buy one and get half off" until i did the math later, i was like "damn." it is when i realize that i paid almost $40 on a price that's almost $20/ea where I was like "damn..wait, i spent almost $40" did the math and I paid both for full price

I fall for reaching a certain amount so I get free shipping quite often.

If you normally buy them individually then you are aware of the price. I mean if it's something you buy on a regular basis. Like when I did when I buy my yarn and other raw materials for crochet. But when I buy in bulk or in sets, I get discounts.

But you have to buy quite a bit to get the discount.

@celticeagle Not here. The bundles are usually cheaper. And no need to buy so much.

I always do my own checks to see if it is a good deal or not.

So do I and just don't feel it's that great a deal most of the time.

I don't fully trust those "you save $X" claims either. A lot of the time it feels like they're comparing the bundle price to some made-up "regular" price that nobody was going to pay anyway. I usually try to check the individual items separately before I decide it's actually a deal. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's just a clever way to make you buy more than you needed. Do you ever compare the bundle price with the price of buying the items on their own?

Yeah. Like they're doing you some big favor or something. Not.
