I was going to use a “What are you wearing?” joke, but it might not go over well, and if I had made that joke, the only acceptable answer in this case would be “black.”
Queensryche is a Seattle progressive metal band, formed in 1980. The original four members, Chris DeGarmo, Michael Wilton, Scott Rockenfield, and Eddie Jackson, were all playing in a cover band called The Mob. They were all between the ages of 17-19 years. They started writing their own songs and each worked two-three jobs to save up to make an EP.
Vocalist Geoff Tate was not yet a member of the band, but had performed a few shows with The Mob, so the band asked him to do the vocals on the EP. Tate wrote the lyrics for “The Lady Wore Black,” the EP closer and B-Side to the single, “Queen of the Reich.” The band changed their name after the song, but changed the spelling to avoid confusion with Nazism. Tate joined full time soon after.
Still a fan favorite all these years later.

Yeah, I know. The lyrics are more of a fantasy-type song, though. No ties to Nazi Germany.

Yeah, they rented a studio in the middle of the night to record it.

They definitely weren't a hair band!

Great song. Great Band. The dude on the right end reminds me of Pauly Shore.

I love Queensryche. We saw the World Premier of Operation: Livecrime on a giant screen at Arnold Hall on the Air Force Academy. We were tripping on shrooms. It was great!

@teamfreak16 Oh Shrooms.
I wish I had liked them more. Or they had liked me more. Something to that effect. Have I told you the shroom gummy story?
