In USA massive migration going on along with ICE deportation and also the temp workers are leaving. So the mortgage based homes are going to be left overnight. And other nations where the public goes back there you would find the prices raised overnight. Either way massive bloodbath is coming in for entire world.
IT is going to have tough times as the jobs shrink. so does other business who serve that population.
Tough times indeed..

Most illegal immigrants don't have mortgages. Our inflation here is high by our standards, but not by the rest of the world.

@snowy22315 You are right, your inflation is nothing compared to many south American countries (Venezuela 387% in 2026) and African countries (Sudan 75%). The EU inflation rate is at 3.8% as of September 2026, 4% in the US.

There is definitely a lot of uncertainty ahead. When people leave, it affects not just housing but also local businesses and jobs. The ripple effects can be felt across many sectors and countries. Hopefully, the situation will stabilise before too many people are affected.

@clairvoyant I hadn't really thought about the mortgage side of things. Imagine spending years working, buying a house and settling down, only to face the possibility of having to leave the country. What happens if you can't sell your house or find someone to rent it? You could end up with a huge financial burden. And you are right, local businesses that depend on these families for customers would suffer too. I wonder whether the authorities have considered all these consequences.
