Do you remember those days when I had to tell John Roberts to take a cold shower because I was about to mention his girlfriend? Well, they’re back! And I am so thankful that they are! Let’s head to Hollywood with another song, and hopefully everyone expected this one too.
Poor Poor Pitiful Me - Linda Ronstadt
I had never been so happy on this site in my life as I was the day I saw John replying to my discussions. If you’ve been following our escapades since he returned, you’ll see why. We always have these “fights“ that involve using song titles from the artist in question. And, he’s one of the few musically astute individuals that I can do that with.
There will be none of that today. He’s in hog heaven because here’s Linda Ronstadt. And what is not to love about her? A voice! A beautiful woman! And wow, can she pick songs to sing. Yes, I’m a little biased, because I love her music, and because she’s doing a Warren Zevon song here.
This is one of her big hits, and one of the reasons that Zevon never really cared that his albums didn’t sell all that well. He had royalties on this song to fall back on.
And note how I sneaked Danny Korthchmar into the screen grab so we’d both be happy!!!!

I remember that song well. I used to have a Linda Ronstadt Greatest Hits album I played incessantly. That song was on there.

I had nearly all of her albums in the 70s, so I don’t think I have the blue cover greatest hits album. But you see that I know what it looks like!

Really? Me infatuated with this girl singer? Maybe a little. Yeah, her voice is okay and maybe sort of good looking. The jury is still out.............

Take your time. I understand that these things take a lot of time to decide.

@FourWalls The verdict was in a lifetime ago lol! Thanks for your kind words. Music isn't my forte. Not like you. You are practically a scholar and music historian with encyclopedic knowledge. Whatever I know is just from a lifetime of radio listening with songs and artists sticking in mind.

@JohnRoberts @FourWalls Oh yes, I remember John's infatuation and crush over Linda Ronstadt.

Oh yes, I had to set my VCR for two hours to tape the repeat when it aired in Hawaii because of “Hawaii standard time.”

Yes we knew this one, but for some reason hubby thought it was Terri Clark. Maybe she remade it? Anyway, we like it.

Yes, Terri Clark remade it. Deducting points for not getting Linda.
