Have you been to a pumpkin patch?

When I was growing up, and even once I started babysitting and nannying, going to the pumpkin patch every year was a must. Along with the Apple Festival, of course. Both were just part of fall, and I have such great memories of them. Well, I was just scrolling through Facebook and saw pictures of a Facebook friend, her husband, and their two little ones at the pumpkin patch. I showed them to Chris and mentioned it, and this man looked at me and told me he has **NEVER BEEN TO A PUMPKIN PATCH.** Excuse me, WHAT? That poor, deprived man. No wonder there's something wrong with him. LOL. How do you make it to adulthood without ever going to a pumpkin patch? What kind of childhood did this man have? Who failed to introduce him to the joys of wandering around a field looking at pumpkins and trying to decide which one you absolutely must have, even though you have no idea what you're going to do with it? I told him we are going to have to fix this situation if I can find one close enough to go to. Because clearly, I have some fall traditions to introduce this man to, and apparently, I have my work cut out for me. I mean, I knew there were things we had experienced differently growing up, but NEVER having been to a pumpkin patch? Somehow, that just seems so foreign to me. Now I'm curious. Have you ever been to a pumpkin patch? Or am I the only one sitting here shocked that a grown man has managed to make it this far in life without this very important fall experience?
