In the 1953 film “House of Wax," Vincent Price plays Professor Henry Jarrod, who, after a fire destroys his wax museum, turns to murder to recreate his displays using the bodies of his victims. Very simply, he murders someone and then turns them into a wax figure. This was the first major film to utilize 3D technology. Questions start getting asked when some of the historic wax figures, like Joan of Arc seem to resemble certain murder victims,

Svengoolie must have made it an interesting watch! Did you find it as scary as you expected when you first saw it?

@RasmaSandra The storyline is certainly disturbing! I think the idea of discovering that a wax figure might actually be a murder victim makes it even more frightening.

That sounds like a creepy film, especially the idea of using murder victims to recreate wax figures. I can imagine how effective that must have been in 3D back in the 1950s!

@RasmaSandra I might give it a watch! I do enjoy a good creepy film, especially when it can still make an impression so many years later.

Oh I love that movie, Vincent Price was so good in it. The Joan of Arc part always creeped me out a little. Cool that it was the first big 3D film too, I never really thought about that.
