Sad News: Small child attacked and killed by a Pitbull in this county

Apparently, a neighbor saw it but did nothing to intervene. The child was only 4 years old, where were the parents? They said the Pitbull was still attacking the child when the police arrived. I can see not wanting to tangle with a Pitbull, but I think I would have tried to do something. Gotten a huge branch and hit it throw stones at it..throw some meat out..anything. However, it is all speculation unless in that situation we don't know what we would do. Anyway, the kid made it to the hospital, but died shortly thereafter. What a horrendous event! I will be going through that area when I go to town a bit later..RIP! Horrible things happen all the time unfortunately.

Pitbull is very dangerous. In India nobody is allowed to keep Pitbull as a pet. I hope in your country also pitbull are not allowed to be had as a pet.

They can be very nice. It is all in the way they are treated. I would never want though, or to live next door to one, or even have one in my neighborhood.

@Shivram59 They can be, but most are not to their owners. I don't know that they need more than a regular dog license, but there might be more to it than that

@snowy22315 Pitbulls can be extremely violent even for their owners. Do those who want to have a pitbull need a licence??

I have heard of way too many horror stories of kids, middle age people and old people getting killed by pit bulls and it angers me so much. I really think the owners of pit bulls who kill should get life in prison. Also, pit bulls should be outlawed in the United States.

That is so sad, a 4 year old should never have been alone near a dog like that. I get why the neighbor was scared, but I think I would have tried something too, even just yelling or throwing stuff. Really hope the family finds some peace, no parent should go through this.

Yes, in that situation you have to do something..even if you don't want to directly go out and make yourself a target.If he had, who knows? The little boy might still be alive.
