Gone Hollywood Top Ten: Hollywood Nights (#10)

It’s top ten time! We’re heading to Hollywood with my ten favorites on the list of songs that mention the movie capital. Some of these are incredibly obvious. In fact, most of them are. Here we go with a reward for patience. #10: Hollywood Nights - Bob Seger Thanks for your patience, @Juliaacv !! There are four songs with “Hollywood” in the title in the top ten, and you just knew that this would be one of them. And you were right!! Bob Seger probably felt this way about Los Angeles, using the woman as a metaphor for how the city captivates people seeing it for the first time. I remember Don Henley and Glenn Frey talking about writing “Heartache Tonight” over the phone with Seger because Seger obstinately refused to move from Michigan. (Which is how a friend of mine ended up having a lengthy discussion with Seger about hunting dogs in a bar in Lansing one night. ) Some people can resist its lure. This is about someone who couldn’t.
