I seem to be in a ‘ quoting mood ‘ these past few days ….i guess it is going to continue …
I actually don’t usually mind rainy days ….unless it’s very heavy it doesn’t usually stop me from doing anything ….
Mondays, I am not keen on as although I am happily retired The Mister is still at work and as he is working in Scotland at the moment, he us up at 4am on a Monday as it’s a 6 -7 hour drive to get to work. I am always awake obviously, although I do try and get back to sleep…..
It does mean an early night on Sunday for him too.
So, if you combine a rainy day with Monday ….well, to quote The Carpenters …” it always gets me down “.
This is the third rainy Monday in a row …..
What always get you down ?

I’m sorry the Mister has to go away for the week. I know you’d much rather be with him.
What always gets me down? Going to my pain management doctor and finding out he isn’t there. That happens way too often. We have to go in even if he isn’t there, but it happens way too often for anyone’s, including the staff’s liking.

@Traceyjayne They don’t tell us, but sometimes I’ll call and check. I still have to come into the office even if he isn’t there though. Which is unfortunate.

I can understand why that would get you down. Do you ever know he isn’t there before you go ?
It seems medical people there as well as here just love messing you about !
I would much rather be with The Mister. He breaks up mid December, so when it’s time for him to return we are hoping the Scotland job will be all finished and he will be closer to home.

Generally rainy days can make me feel blue but when it rains on a Monday that's the worst. I always think of the song too when a rainy Monday rolls around.
Yesterday was our first Sunday in 3 weeks that it didn't rain. Today we have sunny Monday so between the sun and coffee I'm smiling

That song "Rainy Days and Mondays" by the Carpenters is always a great classic. It just capture this unique vibe to it that can relate to the lonely weather.

@traceyjayne I do hope the mister doesn’t get too wet in Scotland. Sounds rough up there. Bad dining experiences always get me down but I don’t think that’s covered by the Carpenters.

@xFiacre I have always sung Jambalaya, cold fish pie ……i only recently found out it was crawfish pie.
Why I thought they would eat cold fish pie I don’t know !

He has cornflakes when he gets there then sandwiches I’ve made for him for his lunch…..he either eats out at night or goes shopping and cooks for himself. He is a good cook.
