Well karma has come back to get me

I don't know if it is karma exactly but it is still *sort of* funny. My work BFF and I had classrooms next to each other for years and years. We've told each other all sorts of things that you wouldn't necessarily tell just a random coworker or even friend. Years ago she was out of work for a week. . . because she put her back out putting on a pair of pants. I screamed with laughter about that. It was just so absurd. She laughed too and we agreed that getting old sucks. Hey I pulled my neck muscles just looking left at a stop sign. Well this morning I woke up early, made fruit salad jars for myself and a coworker, and got in the shower early. I was all ready to get into work and get going. Then I got out of the shower. . . and put out my back. It immediately seized up and I almost fell. I had to limp to this laptop to put in a sick day. I have one of those pads that you can either freeze or microwave to apply cold or heat to an area. I wish I had a heating pad but this is the best I can do for now. I'm not supposed to take ibuprofen, aspirin, or Tylenol due to stomach ulcers. I don't have any aspirin and I wouldn't mess with it even if I did due to my low blood platelets. I do have ibuprofen and I am going to take some of that. I'm sure I could get something like Skelaxin from my 2nd mom but I'm trying to avoid that. I'm hoping that a day of rest and heat will help the situation. So this is my comeuppance for laughing at my work buddy. She threw out her back putting on pants. I think getting out of the shower is even more insane.

Oh boy the joys of getting old. I guess maybe it was karma, or just your turn to have it happen. Getting older is not always fun.

Getting out of the shower is somehow worse than the pants thing, that one's a tough contest to lose lol. Hope the heat pad does its job and you're back on your feet soon...no more laughing at buddys for you, hah.

Just now
Like that meme says: “Injuries in your childhood: falling out of a tree, bicycle wreck. Injuries in your 40s: sleeping wrong, sneezing.” As someone who broke a rib sneezing (after a bout of bronchitis), i can’t laugh at you. But it does reiterate why I had a walk-in tub put in my bathroom as the first post-paid off expense on the house.

I know someone who suffered a 'slipped disk' just putting the kettle on. Apparently problems build up unsuspected and then one final tiny thing is the last straw, as it were.
