Has Technology made human connection better? Or so making it worse?

With the advent of internet and Video Calls, it’s no doubt that connecting to our loved ones is easy and bridging the gap of one’s loneliness. Smart devices allow us to talk to anyone across the word in seconds, which is amazing yet many people still feel more isolated than ever. It’s such a shame that noticing that friends spend gatherings staring at screens instead ot talking face-to-face. Do you feel social media and smartphones bring us closer, or are they driving us apart?

if a human - doctor, dentist, etc. won't give me an answer, i am glad i could ask technology about it and be respected. it gets lonely over time but this was developed by humans too.

Yeah a quick Artificial Intelligence can somehow help with the way concerns are met, however, that is only for research purposes but In the sense of empathetic and emotional connections, It does make it lonelier that the sense of human interaction is far much lesser these days because it's copped by the hands of technology. Yes it was developed by humans but corporations are greedy and make them highly to a part that it lacks human interaction.

The part about friends staring at screens during gatherings hit me... we are all in the same room but nobody's really there. Makes me think half of us are lowkey scared to just sit in the quiet imo

I think boils down to how social media culture does engraved in technology, it's not just about the human interaction anymore but how it's influencing brands and deals. It's quiet scary that it gets lonelier through the day but we also have to bare in mind that we also are the answers to this and by that means to be more cautious with how we used technology and how we can managed our screentime.

Mixed really..it can stop communication, but it can also make it easier to connect.

Tech is good for getting people together like on this site that would never have happened before but overall far worse for society because we are rapidly losing that personal face to face connection.

It's sort of a double edge sword because partly it is beneficial but as well as partly it has taken away a sense of human like connection because everything is digital.
