The End

It’s all over, but I’m still walking like I’m on the boat, which happens sometimes. I had a final wrap up, and most of them are good. First and foremost, the kids found 43 ducks. Now, some of those ducks were flat out handed to them by older passengers who got great joy in giving both tiny and big ducks to little kids. The cruise line even sold ducks, but so many brought their own. The only bad day was the morning we boarded. And it was NOT a typical boarding situation. They announced they had been late getting the previous passengers off of the boat that morning, which pushed back everything. And there was too much walking without places to sit, plus the rain, plus there was a food and wine festival nearby which caused a heck of a lot more foot traffic. I had been in a cruise before, and boarding had never been like that. My sister, who has been on many cruises raved about how Royal Caribbean was so much better in getting you on the ship, but we went with Carnival because it had the stop at Prince Edward Island. And that was her ideal destination. People seem fascinated by families of multiple races. At least four people or couples on the boat wanted to talk about how Annelyn, Amyra, and Hudson came to be in our family. One lady, who was 88, told my sister she had wanted to get into fostering, but thought she was too old. People were incredibly kind to Hudson on the boat. And it is always nice to get your seat first because of his special needs. Having said that, there is a great need for more handicap parking. Too many times we couldn’t find an open space. Also, if you are not handicapped please don’t park in those spaces. It’s pretty low. Amyra ended up with new friends, Annelyn ended up with new friends, and my dad and Diana made such good friends with a couple that they are planning in stopping by Oklahoma on their road trip next spring. They even asked for their phone number. Those wheelchairs in the airport WILL hit every bump on the airport floor, and if you’re like me, you might end up with a migraine because of it. I’m glad I went, but I don’t know that I’d go on a sister cruise if I had the money like my sister suggested. It was really hard on me. But it was a blast. There was tons more good than bad.

What the cruise destination may influence your decision. It may go someplace you really want to see.

My sister wants to go on a cruise and never get off of the boat. She’s actually planning a trip like that with her daughters next year, and they can’t wait. But it’s to Mexico, and we’ve all been to Mexico an awful lot. Not leaving the boat won’t be a big deal for them.

@JohnRoberts I don’t really see the point either, but as long as they can get on deck, they don’t seem to care.

@AmbiePam I would go crazy being stuck on a boat the entire time.

I'm glad you still enjoyed it and had fun. Sounds like that outweighed the bad, even though sometimes the bad can be awful. That's great everyone made friends and had fun too. And the ducks part sounds fun

One duck was really large, and had been dressed up like Indiana Jones.

@AmbiePam Even just seeing a large duck would be cool, anyway it is dressed up! That is cool though!

Good, I am glad you enjoyed it! It is hard not to enjoy yourself on a cruise. Sis has been trying to convince stick in the mud brother in law to go on one, but he thinks everyone who goes on a cruise ends up ill or something. I saw a Bahammas cruise for 249 that is very affordable, However, you have to factor in the costs of being on the ship.flying to the port city and back etc.Besides I have been to the Bahammas. I would probably pick somewhere else to go.

I think if I were going on another cruise, it would really depend on how hot the destination is, and how long the cruise was for. I don’t have any desire to go on short ones. They had hand sanitizer everywhere, plus washing stations at numerous places on the boat. It’s a shame that keeps your BIL from going.

I hardly ever get off the boat anymore in the Caribbean or Mexico because there’s nothing there for me to see
