Do you have any steps in your family? This is my stepmom, Diana. I used to refer to her as my dad’s wife, and people on Mylot didn’t understand why I didn’t just refer to her as my stepmom. It was because I was 35 when they got married, and it felt weird. So I referred to her once as my stepmom in front of my dad, and the look on his face was comical. He didn’t think of her as my stepmom either.
She IS absolutely the grandmother of Amyra, Hudson, and Annelyn. While Diana has older grandchildren, and they love my dad, they aren’t about to refer to him as a grandfather. I think age matters a lot.
Do you have any steps in your family? Stepmother, father, and the like? Diana is a gem.

Just now
No I don't have any steps in the family at all. I do have a half sister. My father never acknowledged her as his daughter. The mother was my grandparents' housemaid. My father had his reason for denying her.
We learned about her existence when I was already 8 years old. It was my mom who told us about it. Not my father.

That makes sense, especially with age mattering a lot with that kind of stuff.
No steps in my family

Never in my life did I think I would have had a stepmother. Then again, I didn’t think my 46 year old mother would be diagnosed with dementia.
