Ice packs are my new best friends

Hello everyone and thank you to @fourwalls who wished me well and prayed for my eye surgery today as well as updated a few of my my LOT friends here that I had gotten out of surgery OK I’m not gonna lie, this has been the most painful surgery I’ve ever had. And I have had 14 surgeries in my 61 years on this planet ( not including procedures and tests). I don’t know if I told you or not, but there was no anesthesia or sedation or twilighting . They injected shots next to my eyes for local numbing and those shots hurt like ever loving hell.. then of course there was the cauterization of my incisions and the smelling of burnt flesh. So no, this is not a surgery that I would ever consider having again and last I absolutely 100% had to have it to keep driving and only if they put me to sleep to do it. I am allowed to take two Tylenol every eight hours and I am applying ice to my eyes for 15 minutes out of every hour. I didn’t know how wonderful ice was, but it apparently numbs the area to keep it from hurting.. My eyes were blurry for the last six hours so I couldn’t read or see or type, but I have a quick moment now where I am talk texting into this program just to update you all I’m gonna be fine. It west just not as easy of an operation as I thought it was going to be.

Oh, it sounds terrifying! I hate it when they don’t just knock you out and do what they have to do. I’m sure sorry it was so painful. Whatever you do, keep up the ice packs and the Tylenol!

I would be terrified facing eye surgery. You are a brave woman.

There is nothing quite as disgusting as the smell of burnt flesh. I hadn’t realized today was your surgery so I’m so glad it went okay. I think my eye surgery was the most painful thing I ever had, so just reading about yours makes me wonder if I ever had to do what you did would I be able to do it. We look forward to having you back, but more than anything, we just hope the pain completely goes away soon!

I'll mark that one down as one to never have done. Very thankful everything went well, and more than happy to pass the good news along to everyone you asked me to.

No anesthesia cream before that injection would really hurt. I'm glad it's over

Such a blessing that they did both eyes at the same time, with the pain and discomfort, you surely would have gone back had they done them one at a time. Rest, and enjoy your ice.
