Does it Matter?

I was just reading the Farmer's Almanac prediction for the rest of the year.
They claim that our entire country (and that's a pretty big area) will have a white Christmas. But when I read closer it is possible for our area only.
I went further and looked at the really long term monthly forecast from another source, and there is a chance as there will be flurries and a temperature around the freezing point from the 23rd to Christmas Day. But flurries do not amount to a white Christmas.
But then I got thinking, that does it really matter? My answer is no it doesn't, because it is a joyous time of the year, and a dry year means it is easier for anyone who has to commute to see family and friends.
Does a white Christmas matter to you?

No, although it helps to at least have a cold Christmas. Last Christmas it was 86 F (30 C) and I needed the air conditioner. A white Christmas never made much difference, and despite it being hot last year I still had a wonderful time with family, but I do miss at least needing a sweater.

@Juliaacv It’s not always that hot as I’d say our average Christmas temperature is around 60 F (16 C), but lately it has been that hot. If we get cold, it’s usually mid January. We basically have two seasons, and it’s a good thing I love the people in my state or otherwise I wouldn’t want to live here (here as in Oklahoma, not here as in my less than great apartment).
I depend on the colder temperatures to save money since I can’t take the heat, but I can always throw on more layers, thus spending much less on electricity for about two or three blessed months.

@AmbiePam I don't think that we can follow the 'average' temperatures anymore, the weather has gone haywire and much warmer than in years past.
This time of the year is idea for saving money here, no a/c and not furnace on. This is the short window of time that we can save for heating/cooling costs. In the winter, well the furnace runs all day/night, every day/night, and it seems to go from furnace to a/c all in a day. There is not opportunity for savings there. I am always grateful to have a place to heat, there are so many homeless in our city, it just pulls at your heart strings terribly.

It does concern me on having snow on Christmas since the road are slippery to walk and drive on.

@Juliaacv The catch is that in South Louisiana we lack snow removal machines.

We have to travel to the Rondeau area for our family's big Christmas party in mid December.
It being along the shores of Lake Erie, I would prefer that part of December to be dry, for obvious reasons.
It is about an hour's drive in good weather.
I'd like to take the girls on a horse and carriage ride this year downtown, and we don't want it too cold or too snowy for that.
My reasons for not carrying if it is a white Christmas or not, are for purely selfish reasons.

"I'm dreaming of a white, Christmas!" I could only sing. I have never experienced a white Christmas yet ever. And your post just reminded me of that song.
Actually, I never dreamed of a white Christmas because I couldn't seem to handle the cold.

It's a very good thing that it doesn't matter to me as we're never likely to have a white Christmas!
