A Plant Treaty

I was shocked to get an email today from my local city council person telling me that another council person was proposing a bill to pass a plant treaty in our city.
I had to look up what the plant treaty was because I’ve never heard of it.
Remember how we left England and started the United States of America because the powers that be wanted to tell us which religion we had to be? Well, this plant tree reminds me of that..
I know some people are vegan and vegetarian, and I respect that, but that is their choice and they cannot force their choice of not eating meat on me. I also have the freedom of choice..
But these plant treaty people which by the way is a Global thing, believe that animals are the primary problem in the world, causing global warming, climate change, and whatever else they can come up with.
Now some of the things you would expect to see in this plant treaty are forbidding meat to be served in kids school lunches if they are government funded. They also want to impose tax, sort of like a sin tax on all meat and fish. The plant treaty wants to dictate how much land can be used for raising cattle versus raising vegetables.
And there were a lot more things like that in the plant treaty.
But here’s the sneaky little thing, and there’s always a sneaky little thing and every single bill proposed by a politician, that I found in the plant Treaty.
The plant treaty stipulates that land can be taken away from land owners and distributed to other people to create more societal equity.
Hell no. I will not give up my land without a fight. And nobody ever said that everybody was supposed to be equal they were just supposed to be traded equally and have equal access to opportunities.
And someone will have to explain to me why that language is included in a plant treaty that in theory is supposed to take care of the climate.
I will see if I can post a link to the Global plant Treaty here
The Plant Based Treaty We are a grassroots initiative creating bottom-up pressure for the negotiation of a global Plant Based Treaty as a companion to the UNFCCC Paris Agreement. Modeled on the Fossil Fuel Treaty, the Plant Based Treaty aims to put food sy

This is so irritating to leave one speechless.

I’ve never heard of a Plant Treaty, but there is a big push here to move away from eating the traditional meat such as as beef, pork, and lamb, towards plant-based alternatives. There has also been the suggestion that as an alternative to meat, we should be considering eating insects (Entomophagy). I’ve never (knowingly) ate one, but things like crickets and mealworms are apparently a great source of protein. Will it catch on? It hasn’t yet.
