The bougainvillea—scientifically known as *Bougainvillea spectabilis*—is a popular ornamental plant. It typically grows as a small tree that struggles to stand upright. Its beauty lies in its brightly colored, eye-catching floral bracts, which grow in lush clusters. Bougainvilleas are often referred to as "paper flowers" because their bracts resemble paper. Although the plant is beautiful, it features sharp thorns along its stems, so one must exercise caution.

I have noticed that some flowers are great to look but be careful dealing with the thorns.

@nawala123 That is true since thorns do hurt people.

We have them in pots. Right now we have the pink/purple ones but before we use to have them in almost all their colors-white, yellow, orange even bicolor. At my grandma's they have it planted in the soil, so it grew into almost the size of a small tree.
