Rind, peel, husk, skin, what else

English is often confusing me. For instance, watermelon has rind, banana has peel, corn has husk and apple has skin. In my Indonesian language all is "kulit" which literally means skin. What else skin for fruits do you know?

Corn having a husk is legit the weirdest one to me because its nothing like a peel... iirc pomegranate has a rind too but i never thought about it before.

That's because Indonesia doesn't want to be complicated, so it uses one word. Indonesia was once colonized by England and maybe a mixed language.

@nawala123 Yes, rice can include rice (raw) or rice (cooked).

I sometimes think English has too many words for the same thing. I'm sure it's very confusing.

@nawala123 Every now and then they come up with a new name for some cut of meat so you're not the only one that gets confused.
