Can You See a Difference?

Okay, this is a collage of how I've looked all these years (on the left) and how I look as of last night.
I won't say "before and after" because the "after" isn't done yet. I'll still be healing for a couple of months and the eyelids will continue to tighten up. And, they are still swollen.
I got the stiches out a couple of hours ago, but this photo collage was made last night, so you'll still see stitches.
I see a heck of a lot of difference, do you? And I'm thinking it's even going to look better once the swelling is gone and I'm healed.
Does it look like it was worth it?

@JohnRoberts Right, the left photo is the "before" photo showing the "hooded eyes" which is what the surgery was for

I know you did it for practical reasons, but it does look phenomenal too, besides keeping your line of vision intact. I don’t know if I’d have the courage to do it like you after you shared your experience.
With my eye surgery, they cut into my eyeball, but hadn’t numbed it, I jerked, and they put in more numbing drops, cut again, and it still wasn’t numb. They had to dump the bottle in my eyeball. So while it felt like agony, it wasn’t prolonged pain like yours. I don’t know that I could it.

I had what was called RK Eye surgery in 1996 before Lasik eye surgery was invented. They would put several rounds of drops in your eye to numb it, and then the surgeon would take a scalpel and cut your eye while you light their wide awake with no anesthetic whatsoever. They had these metal things in your eyes to keep your eyes propped open and they had your head strapped down so you couldn’t move

To be fair, I was looking down in the right hand picture and my eyes are swollen, so I’ll show you all again in about a month and what you think.

Oh yes, I can see so much difference. I know you have been through a tough time, it’s been absolutely horrible for you. I do think that it was worth it though …

You look better after the swelling has gone down.

I know it was very painful and I feel a person should be asleep for eye surgery, but evidently that's not a thing anymore. They did use a general anesthesia on my son when they operated on his eye recently. There wasn't any questioning, they just said that's what he would have.
I do remember you said if you didn't get it done you might not be able to drive, so I can understand why you did it. And yes, there is a big difference.
