The collage shows two of the many lovely gerberas that were on display at the Rose and Gerbera Show that we attended a few weeks ago. They are sometimes known as African daisies and come in a variety of colours including red, pink, orange, yellow, white and cream.
Like dahlias, there are several types including single (one lay of petals around a prominent centre); double (multiple layers and a fuller appearance) and spider which feature narrow, spiky petals. Shown in the collage are examples of double and spider types.
As well as the bright colours, they have long stems, a long vase life and bloom generously making them popular in gardens, bouquets and floral arrangements.
