Do you believe friendship can survive differences in political beliefs?

I have a friend and we had an argument in the comments section in my social media. Here in the Philippines, politics is highly divisive. To be honest though, part of me cannot reconcile why a person would be ok about state institutionalized offing of a person's life but since we had known each other a long time, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the propaganda got to her?
With the recent US midterm elections, I wonder if this is also what is happening in other countries

No. We no longer live in a tolerate society respecting other people's beliefs and opinions.

Tolerance is difficult though because of moral ambiguity. If a person is ok with hateful things like killings and racism. I think there is a boundary for tolerance

I have an online friend who is complete opposite of me in my religious and political beliefs. I don't want to block the person because I want to see if they block me. Does that make sense?

I never speak to anyone about politics and am glad I have no one to speak to anyway. Definitely not a politically minded person,

I keep my political beliefs to myself since my relatives do not like President Trump.

My comment will be a question.
At what point is a persons belief not acceptable because it is affecting the other person?
I mean so many times anger is present even if an opinion doesn't matter. If courts or political authority is to be changed it is changed by democracy for example or if the country doesn't have democracy a persons opinion does nothing either for or against. So their anger is present regardless.
