Definitely check with a dentist, get some x-rays to find out if wisdom teeth are indeed your problem, and if they are impacted (coming in sideways). If they are impacted it's better to get them removed sooner rather than later. The cost of getting them out earlier is much less than letter them starting pushing more against the other teeth, not to mention the increased pain.

Yes, I have this impacte problem - sideways growth. If the pain subsides with some pain killer or something do I still have to remove it?

I think if they're impacted they may continue to cause pain and a world of other problems later on if not removed. You'll want to check with a dentist for sure, but in the meantime maybe a reputable medical Web site can help... two that I use are: mayoclinic.com webmd.com Good luck, hope you get some relief soon...

I cut mine way back when I was in college, and I still remember how badly they hurt. No wonder babies are fussy when they're teething. You can take some aspirin, get some baby orajel or something, or put a cold cloth on your face. Just be glad you weren't my son. He didn't have enough room for his wisdom teeth to come in, so he had to have all 4 cut out!

Wisdom teeth hurt when they come in and they will continue to hurt for a while.you may want to go to the dentist and see if they don't need to be extracted because most of the time thats what they recommend. When it comes to the pain just take some pain medication or get something you can put on it to numb the tooth.

Get them pulled.:) It can be really painful the wisdom teeth. I don't really know what to do for the pain, I had mine pulled as soon as the first one started to come it.

How much does it typically take. Do you recommend going for the insurance or paying for getting them pulled? WHich is less costlier given that I dont have any other dentl issues?

Oh, I can't remember when my wisdom teeth came in. All I know is that all 4 came in and two have been pulled. I still have the bottom two.

Yes, i know. But you see dental insurance is so expensive. I was hoping the pain will jsut go away if I tolerate it. But it is bothering me too much now.
