These day's more and more people are becoming more and more health conscious as we all know and most people do have a misconception and they consider carbohydrates are bad for health.....is it really bad...what do you think? Don't you think that carbohydrate, proteins and fats do contribute more to your energy? As far as i am concerned, carbohydrates, fats and protein do contribute towards healthy diet. But, more than a limit everything is bad ....what are your views....

Carbohydrates should not be considered bad for you because it is the major source of energy. Too much carbo will eventually lead to building up that extra fat. Unused carbohydrates will be converted into fats, thats the time that it becomes bad. Balanced diet should always be considered.

Yes...too much carbo is too bad ...but, too many people have misconception that carbohydrates are bad for health and if we take carbohydrates more than what is required , only then excess carbo won't be used by the body and will be stored as fat in fat cells....so, balanced diet should alway's be maintained and so, it is alway's better to consult a registered dietician before starting any diets.... Anyway's thanks for responding

I would like to think that since carbohydrates give you energy they aren't really "bad for you." I don't understand why people think that it will help them to loose weight if they take carbohydrates out of their diet. It's a need per the food pyramid.

He....carbohydrates are for energy and energy is required for anyone...but, if we take excess carbs, it will be stored as fats in our body and as everybody know's fats are bad for health and so, carbs should be only be taken in limits and more than a limit, it is definitely bad...is it clear for you now.... carbs are good. people just need to stop stuffing their faces with processed food, fast food, and junk food. That is the problem. Carbohydrates, the kind found in fruit, veggies, and whole grains, are very very good for you. I have heard that it is good to eat a diet that is half carbs and then a quarter protein and a quarter fat.

i believe in you...we need carbohydrates for energy...carbo can be burned easily but we should really be careful what we eat because too much is bad really.we need protein also for the muscles and bones.we need both to move on.otherwise,we will feel really haggard and tired and no energy.

yes exactly....we should be carefull and see that we don't take beyond limits. What i suggest is, one should keep a balance intake of carbohydrate, protein and fats just because all three are very important constituents for energy development in our human body.If you take anything in excess, it won't be used in the body and they are used as fat in fat cells.... Anyway's, thanks for responding

I think carbohydrates are an essential source of energy for everyone. I don't understand this craze about leaving it out. It's insane. Even though I am guilty of eating bad carbs, I am not about to leave it out of my diet just because they say you'll lose weight "faster." If only everyone could eat healthy and stay active.

Definitely.....even i got amused seeing of people avoiding carbs just for the sake for their health.....amazing isn't it? some of them don't even consult any dietesians or doctors before going on a diet, which is very bad as doing things like avoiding carbs completely is another invitation to trouble...isn't it? Thanks for responding
