I searched online and found a website(www.alphadictionary.com/articles/ling007.html ) that says hippopotamus means "River Horse" and comes from a Greek origin. Hope that helps! Kind of a random question, but I guess I learned something new huh? Thanks!

River horse, I believe. NO, I don't want a hippo! I thought this was a cute picture, though, I like hippos, and I like to watch the animals shows on Sundays, sometimes they talk about hippos.
