Are all these e-coli breakouts changing your dining out habits?

Once again another fast food restaurant has been found to have e-coli in their food. Taco bell has had 46 confirmed cases. See the following article http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16089596/
Does this recent onslaught of so many problems with food chains make you think twice about dining out? I for one am going to be making some changes. We don't dine out often, but it's going to be even less now!

i have always been wary of eating out, it cant be that hard to get people to wash their hands surely? Yet it seems to be an increasing problem maybe stiffer fines for breaches of regulations, but i really dont know, human stupidity seems to have an endless capacity

Oh I know! I've seen so many times when a restaurant employee comes in, rushing, goes to the bathroom and rushes out again without washing their hands. SICK!

I saw that on the news. I never liked Taco Bell's food anyways. I definately won't eat there now! I know bad things go on at restuarants, but until they are outted in the news I choose to act oblivious to it!

I used to be oblivious... took the 'can't happen to us' approach.. but wow... I dunno. Everything is coming up with Ecoli from the spinach (that supposedly good for you stuff you purchase for salads!) to fast foods and I'm thinking... we might just be a lot safer to cook for ourselves!!!
Thanks for answering!

Actually what it does for me is make me determined to grow more of my own food at home next year. I had a nice garden full of mostly volunteer plants this year. First time I have had a garden in a long time.

We have not been eating out much because lately we just can't afford it. I have been more careful washing vegetables at home, though. Plus I buy less of the vegetables that are showing up as culprits. They seem to have centered the problems mostly on California vegetables. Also they noticed that there were farms closer to where they had animal raising farms where the ground water was not properly disposed of after being in contact with animal manure, then it was used to water the vegetables. Mostly I think it is a matter of treating your home fruits and vegetables with more care. Funny we always worried about meat contamination but we never worried about vegetables much like we have to now.

It is sooooo expensive in comparison, if you have a family. Oddly enough though when it becomes just you or just you and a spouse it becomes often more thrifty. But I have to admit, all the crap going around about the e-coli scares me enough to not eat out much at all!

Sort of. I'm glad now we went to BK not Taco Bell the last time we were in a nearby town.
I don't think it is the restaurants fault though.
