I've had migrains since I was young. I found that Imitrex works great and takes them right away. But I have a 7 month oldnow that i'm breastfeeding I can't take it, and couldn't take it while pregnant either, I was just wondering if anyone else is or has been in the same situation as me and what you used. I'm on vicodin right now for them but sometimes it just dosen't work! Thanks :)

Check with your doctor first, but there is some evidence to suggest that maintaining an adequate level of magnesium both by diet and supplement greatly reduces the frequency and severity of migraines. I have not had the diagnosis of Migraines, but for a number of years was hit once or twice a month with a very severe headache. I find that I almost never (once or twice a year) get them since I have added seafood and calcium/magnesium supplements. I actually did this because I learned that magnesium was necessary to get the good effects of calcium. To have the headaches diminish was a bonus.

Thanks for your input on this, I hadn't heard that before I am on a pill to prevent them too. It seems my doc just wants to put me on pill after pill lol and not get to the reason of why I get them......But thanks for the info :)
