A Girl Kneeling on the Groun

China

Walking in the street on some evening, I saw a children kneeling aside. The children wrote down her suffering on the concrete gournd in front of her. I knew, if it was true, she was begging for her tuition. I recalled of a piece of news on some newspaper sometime, which reported that the children of this kind were well organized by one or several evil persons. The children had to hand in their outcome to the organizers everyday. Of course, the organizers were finally imprisoned. The amount of money accumulated from the children"s hard work was astounding --- more than 20 millions yuan. I felt annoyed and walked. After taking several steps, I couldn"t help thinking of the sympathetic face of the little girl. I thought whether I should give her money. Maybe she was one of the children under command of the evil persons. It"s very much possible. If not, why didn"t she appeared at the same place everyday until she got enough money for the tuition? Why did she appeared there that day and disappeared one day after? The questions occured on my mind continuously. I turned my sight back on the kneeling girl. She was wearing a poor uniform with colors of blue and white. The red ribbon around her neck was very old and crinkled. Her hair was relatively short to the girls of her age. Maybe she didn"t wash it for days. Her shoes was originally white, but had became grey because of the dirt. She was at the back of a lantern, so I couldn"t see her face clearly, and in addition that I was slight short-sighted. Somehow, I thought of Jesus"s words, "Love the people around you!" Although Jesus"s love was too extreme, I thought even I couldn"t have gone that far, I should give her money. I went back to the front of the little girl. I took out 10 yuan, squated down, lightly put on the ground, and used my middle finger to move the money to the front of her left knee. I put up my head and looked at her. I saw a drop of tear going down on the 10 yuan banknote. The drop of tear shimmered under the light of a car. But, she didn"t take the money when I left. After I had reached home, I thought a lot. Had I done right? Whether the evil persons behind the girl would take the money with a wicked smile? What was the right choice in that situation?... The question of which I thought most was whether it"s really important to clarify it"s right or wrong? On the surface, it appeared wrong to give the girl money if she begged for the evil persons. Behind this conclusion, what else? Should we love the strangers? Would this love make the world so warm in this warm winter that we couldn"t stand that and sweat all over? I remember a famous writer said, "This world is beautiful, and it"s worth making efforts on." However, I just can agree the latter part of this sentence. I have nothing to say...

Hi, Let me share a story with you. A saint was taking bath in a river. He found a scorpion clinging to a leaf and is about to be drowned in the middle of the river. The saint saved the scorpion. The scorpion stung the saint. The saint did not mind that and kill the scorpion. When the others around asked the saint why he did not kill the thankless scorpion, he said, " It is my duty to Save the scorpion and it is the duty of the scorpion to sting." So it is your duty to help the girl and leave the rest to God to decide, whom to punish and whether to reward you for the act of genorosity.

This always makes me think of the parable about us maybe entertaining an angel unaware. That person maybe an angel sent by the Lord to test our compassion. I have taken almost all the money I have and given someone to help them. And if I don't have anything to give them materially because I do not have that much, I can at least let them know I care by a kind, encouraging word. My daughter is the same way. If all I have is a few pennies I give to them. Ihave cried because I wished I could help more. Someone asked me one time when I was working and had a good job how I knew the person really needed it. I told them that if they were scamming me then shame on them but if I had and didn't give to them and they did need it then shame on me. My parents taught me to help others. I was raised poor in finances but felt rich in my heart when we helped someone. That person just might be your angel aware that God sent to you.

I believe one way to help such people is to give them clothes or food instead of money..

"evil persons behind" then the little child would be saved and her life would be better.again,if that little girl will be saved and given the 3 basic needs, then for her the world will really beautiful because of the efforts that has been made by the concern people.sometimes, money is not the real answer to those who begged.it's understanding and giving them real care for their needs.

I was deeply moved by the story you wrote. Don't wonder if you did the right thing. Say to yourself that you did the right thing. Some people don't really know that when people stop giving a child that begs money etc then this child is either sold, raped and killed or worse cut in peaces and sold as "spare parts" for humans. You did the right thing and you earned the little girl another day in life. What you had to do at the same time was to go to the police and describe the girl and the post. She would have been better in an orphanage. Think about it and make a decision before you go out again.

i have seen many such thing in our country, you know in every country there are many poors and they have no other way to earn money .so sometime they have to go to the street and kneel down for money or food .it is a pity that many other guys who are so lazy to earn money by himself prtend to be the poors and also kneel down along the street for money .and that make us puzzled sometime.we don't know whom we should help with.so sometime we don't help neither of them and people goes to be apathy

you have done as you thought best, but giving alms to beggars doesn't remove beggary. believe me, some beggars are just so comfortable sitting all day, doing nothing yet earning enough to keep body and soul together, that they wont take up any other respectable work given to them. you should never give money except to very old & infirm people who cant work anymore. beggary should never be encouraged, instead if you can spare some money regularly, give it to any organization working for rehabilation of beggars.

i'm not sure what i would have done in that situation. as of now, i don't have much to help out...but i try to give what i can. i probably would have talked to the child and asked her if someone was making her do this. i would probably feel more better getting the child a warm meal and some new clothes then money. because of the situation and these people using children to gain money, i would also see if she needs help to get out of that situation. if you talk to them longer, then hofully they'll start opening up. if she says she's being forced to do things like this, then i'll see if i could get her some help, by taking her to a police station and assuring her that everything would be alright...but i would feel really bad for her...which makes what these people are doing even worse because they know that they are playing on the emotions of people. + - !

It isn't touching incident. you have just done the right thing , you went ahead by what your feelings said. for don't worry wherever the money landed because your intention was to help the girl out. and you definitely helped her in some way.

I think if we can afford to give people like this money than we should. I know the day I can afford to help the people on the streets of Boston I will do the best I can. It's a rough life and sometimes people's luck is just down. I think you did the right thing, there is no way for you to know who she is begging for.

You can never be sure about such things.... I think you did the right thing. Wherever the money goes in the end, all that happens is for a good cause....

i think money is not the right thing that the little girl wanted.i think what the girl really wanted is a shelter to live, clothes to wear and food to eat to have a real living.i guess that if you will liberate that little girl on the hands of what they said, "evil persons behind" then the little child would be saved and her life would be better.again,if that little girl will be saved and given the 3 basic needs, then for her the world will really beautiful because of the efforts that has been made by the concern people.sometimes, money is not the real answer to those who begged.it's understanding and giving them real care for their needs.

if it was me who seen this little girl; i think that i would of offered her a shelter or some warm food may-be even some nice clean clothes. cause if i would of given her money i would of followed her to see excatly who she was giving this money too. even though it was an evilperson cause i believe it is better to give than to recieve;and if i helped some-one out like that at least i know i did some-one a good deed.
