Kidney

My son underwent kidney transplant and has been in kidney trouble for more than 2 years now. My husband died of kidney failure last May after undergoing dialysis also for more than 2 years because he was to donate one of his kidneys to our son but unfortunately he was found out to be suffering from the same ailment and he passed away. It's very difficult to have this kind of ailment, very expensive, and might cause death too soon. My son now is having his regular check up and taking in his medications - lifetime, and very expensive. We are poor and money is a very big problem yet added is this very expensive lifetime maintenance. I don't know how to go about it anymore to lengthen the life of my son. If you are not yet troubled by this problem, see to it that you will never be in with this kind, very exhausting really. Do everything to prevent it. May God bless all of us.

It's really very difficult to suffer from such kind of ailment. Just keep on praying and God will take care of others you cannot bear. Keep faith in Him and take good care of yourself and the twins. May God bless you all. SEN

Erminia, trust in the Lord to help you and may He bless you. It is very rough for you as a widow and as a mother to a son with his problems. I wish I could help you finacially but I am a widow 62 years old am drawing my widow's vbenefits from my social security in the USA. I will pray for you and your son. The only way I have internet is I live across and down the street from my daughter and a modem hooked up to the one computer of hers that she lets me use and allows me to pick up her DSL. It allows me to be able to make some money from paid emails and that helps buy food. Does your country have beefits for widows with young children and any medical benefits? What country do you live in? Just like to know these things about the people I see on here. God bless you and your family.

Thank you very much. How is that paid email thing? I should like to have any sort of income too from the internet. We live at No. 2264 Barangay Calahan Cardona, Rizal Philippines 1950 No benefits extended to those kind but the gov't extends assistance which is so difficult to benefit from, so many problems and it takes a very long time before getting a little amount. I'm happy to hear from you. May God bless you.

My mother is on dialysis. I do it for her at home, it's called PD. She has been on it for almost three years. She has had a few problems but nothing too serious. My mother in law has a kidney trasplant about seven years ago, and has not needed dialysis ever since. She has alot of problems. I wish you luck and will keep you in our prayers.

My case is just simillar to you. My wife had one kidney removed due to tumour inside and there after she is living with one kidney. all care has to be taken.but most important to remain away from all kidney diseases is to drink plenty of water which keep kidney always in flushed and washed condition. So, my request to all is that we all must consume lot of water through the day.on an average, you must take 3 to 4 litres of water per day.

Yes, water can help a lot before acquiring kidney ailment. But when it is already there, I don't think so. My son and husband were just allowed to drink an amount. Thanks a lot. May God bless you.

I have not had to face this situation (kidney trouble) in my family as of yet, but I do feel so bad for you and your son. To lose a parent/husband is devistating in its own right. To have your son facing the same thing I just can't imagine! You have my thought and prayers to make it through this and that you both live long and happy lives. God bless you both!

I can under stand your problem sincerely ! My sympathetic feelings are with you and we pray the Almighty to do the best for your son's well being ! I can understand your problem very well because my brother in law who is around 40 now underwent surgery of Kidney transplant some 6 years back , his wife donated her kidney. I had to undertake the responsibility as I am the only responsible male member of my wifes family, though the family is different one.In India we have much concern and care for our relatives, guests and neighbourers. Having under gone surgery, now he got his kidney rejected and he is on peritoneal dialysiis for last one year. Yes I know it is very expensive thing as we are undergoing the pinch, but at the same time it is very painful for the patient also ! We have tried to appraoch some Charity Organisations for help, but as you know they are interested more in geeting publicity than actually helping the needy. Our Frieds and family members have come farward and they are helping him right now, in every possible way ! As you said one should try to prevent this type of ailment as it is really not only painful for the patient but too trouble some for the family ! Regular cheking for hyper tension and keeping blood pressure under control and keeping sugar level in the blood under control can be two vital things , by which we can prevent this ailment to some extent ! May God bless you and your son ! With sympathetic feeling...All the best !

Yes, we experienced similar incidents... his wife must love him so much for giving her kidney, I admire her. We were used also for publicity by no less than the First Gentleman using PCSO but anyway, that helped us a lot. Thank you very much and may God bless you and your family.

I hope you prevail in all your troubles. God always has a plan for us, we may not understand it now but everything is in HIS plan. My sympathies... My 2 year old son has a condition called ureter-reflux. It is not as serious as a kidney failure, but if we don't treat it with antibiotics or monitor his condition, his kidney may be affected too. So I am also concern with kidney failures and such. Anyway, he is doing okay now, and I pray that he recovers from his reflux too.
