why do we need PASSPORTS and VISAS?

keeps a track of where your citizens are and keeps ppl like criminals etc out ,as well as in case of emergency, the consulate can find you

YES IT IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE IT CAN BE A PROOF FOR YOUR IDENTITY OR YOUR NATIONALITY.
