Narrow minded people, how do you deal with them?

Would you rather ignore them or argue with them? Would you continue to ask them why do they think that way about their views? I know I would!

If a narrow minde person talking at my front, and if his or her topic is useless then I wouldn't mind, it's just wasting time for a person to talk. I just walk away.

Everybody has their way of looking at things. Try and always look at a persons point of view in two ways.

Just try to find out why this person thinks the way he or she does. Their circumstances now and when they grew up, their diet, is it unhealthy and can it affect their thinking. I often think that narrow minded people have too little of good fats in their brain, especially omega3. It would be nice to meet their real personality when they get the nutrition and attention or therapy or whatever they need.

I think I'd ignore them. You can argue with some of them until the cows come home but they still won't change their point of view. it's a shame but it's just the way things are unfortunately. Better just to be grateful that you're not like them..:)

If people are narrow minded ignore them, there is no point talking to them because if they are narrow minded they won't listen. So you would end up wasting your time.

I'd never argue people with closed minds. I just try to give my opinion and it's up to them if they will listen to me or just debate with me. I never leave them with a sour word because close minded people will always fight back. Just say what you have to say and be on your way.

Ignore them, whats the point, they are not going to listen to your opinion anyway, I am fairly broad minded because mostly I don't care as long as no-one is getting hurt, I try never to judge anyone and think that is important.

I ask why they believe what they do and how they come to their conclusions about things. If it doesn't make sense then I would tell them so, and how much better life is when you are open minded to different things.

I just ignore them... I mean I let on that Im listening but honestly they lose me. Its not worth arguing with them because you know that they will argue there point until they are blue in the face...sometimes I wonder who they are trying to convince...me or themselves. Anyway its just not worth it.

I will certainly ignore narrow minded ppl, bcoz they will get convinced easily and their ideas or solution for a problem will be only for short team, they don't have any long term plans. Normally all narrow minded ppl will like to achieve the plan what they have set and will not agree upon others opinion initially. It is very difficult to manage them.

I have handled ignorant people in all of the ways stated in the discussion opener. But it really depends on the person. If someone is VERY narrow minded, there is no reason to argue with them or debate the issue at hand with them. They are not going to be open to new veiws. So those people, I just shake my head at and move on. Some people like sharing their views ans reasons for feeling a certain way about an issue. These are the people who are willing to listen to the other side as well. I have discussions with these people.

I would try to argue, but not for too long. You can't usually get through to them.

If I am in the right frame of mind and feel adamant about something I will argue my point with them. most of the time it is not worth my effort so I let it slide and just listen to how stupid they are!

On so many occasions we have to face narrow minded people in our daily life. Some time we have to deal them compulsorily due to some circumstances but if there is no proper business with them it is better to just ignore, no need to waste our time and energy.

I would continue to ask them to explain their views and beliefs, and the reasons for them, as long as they would listen to my views also. If it's one-sided (their way only), then it's not worth discussing or arguing over. That would be like beating your head against a brick wall. Some people are narrow-minded by nature; most people have 1 or 2 issues which they feel very passionately about and tend to be a bit narrow-minded about.
